FEBRUARY 25 - MEETING THE HEALTHCARE NEEDS OF OUR SENIORS
Last Summer, I was privileged to be nominated and elected as Vice-Chairman of the Joint Study Committee to Study the Development and Implementation of a Long-Term Care Services Plan. The committee met several times throughout the Fall and is still meeting during this legislative session. FEBRUARY 03 - EXPANDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS, MEETING HEALTHCARE NEEDS FOR SENIORS
The holidays have come and gone and we are already three weeks into another legislative session. Where does the time go?! It's been a few weeks since I last wrote so I want to catch you up on a few things going on in Nashville. The General Assembly is currently considering changes to the Tennessee lottery HOPE scholarship. Unfortunately, approximately 75% of the recipients of the scholarship lose their scholarships and as many as one-third that lose the scholarship will drop out of college. Last year the General Assembly passed up a great opportunity to expand the opportunities provided in the HOPE scholarship program...
